J.Howard
J. Howard works diligently to combine a love for helping others with a love for artistic expression. Recognizing that color is important, she remained focused on drawing and 2D animation; going to work for the studios with an end goal of becoming a mental health physician. It was in the studio that she developed a more intense love for tricking the eye of what it sees through hand drawn images in Hyper-realism. Howard utilizes the intricate detailing of hyper-realism to present images through organic soft pastel drawings on canvas. She believes that as an artist, she must delve beyond just recognizing the colors present for their inherent qualities but, also incorporate them in such as way that each drawing goes beyond the natural depth of field. There is a strong desire to ignite emotion and provoke thought as not only an artist but, as a therapist in her mental health practice. Howard uses art as a therapeutic stimulant for communication to reach a deeper level of healing. Coupled with an even deeper desire for detail, it is obvious in her work that the goal is to reach the viewer through what is represented in her unique style. J. Howard has been awarded with the 2016 Hunting Art Prize Top Ten Finalist and Purchase Award; 2017 National Emerging Artist Solo; 2018 & 2019 Top 5 American Art Awards; 2018 Cowboy True Best of Show (Drawing Category); 2018 International Illustration Award; 2019 Best of the Best national Award; 2020 Inspirational Contemporary Artist and Cover Winner; 2021Texas State 2D Nominee, 2021 One of 12 Texas Artists to Collect; and 2022 American Women Artist National Show and Award recipient; just to name a few. Her work has received many more awards in, both, national and international arenas, published often and continues to grow in popularity.
