Soft Bound Leather Book Workshop
This workshop will allow students to learn how to make a soft bound leather book. It is a book where the pages are attached to a piece of leather by means of sewing. The process is similar to Japanese stab bound books where the stitching is exposed on the spine and can be used to create a decorative element. Unlike the stab binding style, the cover is not made with book binder’s board. Instead, medium weight leather is used for the cover, making the book flexible. This is an ideal beginner style book because it has only a few parts. No gluing is needed and the leather makes it durable.
